Postdoctoral Fellowship/Employment

Wellness and Talk Therapy in Dallas, Texas

Wellness 360, a private practice located in Dallas, TX, is offering three postdoctoral positions for the next academic year. Wellness 360 provides a holistic approach to treatment that engages both the mind and the body for optimal healing. The mission of Wellness 360 is to help individuals learn how to live well in their bodies and experience the joys of connected living. Similarly, we hope to provide three postdoctoral fellows the opportunity to be a part of a connected and collaborative group of mental health professionals that strive to maintain wellness and joy in their work.

Our practice focuses on providing services to adolescents and adults utilizing a variety of somatic and evidenced based approaches. We currently have three licensed psychologists, two provisionally licensed psychologists, two postdoctoral fellows, one licensed professional counselor-associate, and a licensed massage therapist at Wellness 360. Fellows will receive mentorship in practice building, clinical development and enjoy ready access to supportive consultation.

Fellows will be supervised by Dr. Mathew and Dr. Stabb. Dr. Mathew has many years of experience providing psychotherapy and specializes in supervision, multicultural training, trauma, perinatal mood issues, couples, ecotherapy, and mindfulness practices. Dr. Stabb has helped to train over 500 master’s and doctoral level psychotherapists. Dr. Stabb is involved in issues regarding training at the national level, and has received the Outstanding Training Director Award from the Society of Counseling Psychology (SCP; Division 17 of the American Psychological Association), served as a reviewer for the journal Training and Education in Professional Psychology, and co-authored the most recent version of the Counseling Psychology Model Training Program.

Wellness 360 provides fellows the opportunity to be trained in a wide variety of topics such as: anti- racism, trauma, perinatal mood disorders, mindfulness/meditation, somatic, and ecotherapy (check out our website for our CBS interview on Ecotherapy!). Interested fellows will also have the opportunity to participate in a supervision training rotation to equip them to become well rounded supervisors in the future. Additionally, fellows have the opportunity to receive training and consultation with a psychiatrist. Our postdoctoral fellowship meets all requirements of APPIC accredited fellowships including two hours a week of individual supervision and two hours of learning activities.

The primary responsibility of our fellows is to provide quality psychotherapy services to adults, adolescents, and couples. In addition to psychotherapy, fellows will be expected to engage in weekly case consultation/staff development meetings, individual supervision, practice building activities, and maintain all required documentation of the postdoctoral experience. Wellness 360 affirms, honors, and celebrates diversity. Fellows will also be expected to engage in ongoing multicultural training and competence building activities.

Wellness 360 has established referral sources, online marketing, and accepts insurance. The postdoctoral fellowship program at W360 was established in 09/2016 and has continued to thrive. Fellows enjoy the autonomy of creating a private practice schedule that fits with their lives and desired income level within the Texas licensure requirements of 35-hours per week. Fellows also enjoy the benefits of having a flexible earning potential. Over the past six years, W360 fellows have earned $55,000.00 -$90,000.00. Our 2020-21 fellows earned approximately $83,000.00, and 2021-2023 fellows earned approximately $65,000-72,000.00. Fellows have the opportunity to choose a W2 or 1099 structure.

We are looking for fellows with a career interest in private practice. Successful candidates for this position are ones who value collaboration, clinical excellence, and are self-starters. Fellows are encouraged to bring their unique specialties to enhance our practice. This position is offered to applicants who hold a doctoral degree in psychology from an APA accredited program and who have completed an APA accredited predoctoral internship prior to beginning this postdoctoral fellowship.

Applicants for these positions are invited to submit a cover letter expressing their interest in this position, vitae, and two letters of reference (including at least one from a predoctoral internship supervisor). For questions about this position, please call Dr. Mathew at 972.808.6605.
