Is your health causing you stress? Is your stress causing health problems?
Is your sleep or your health limiting your ability to be the person you want to be?
Health Behavior Change
We all know that eating leafy greens and getting daily exercise is important to health and longevity but few of us muster the energy, find the time, or have the energy to implement these things in our life. I don’t see my role as giving you health advice, but rather to help boost your own internal motivation to make sustainable change in your life.
Chronic Medical Illness
Huge segments of the American population are living with a medical issue like cancer, diabetes, epilepsy, or another medical condition. Any medical issue that lasts more than 3 to 6 months is sure to have at least a moderate impact on your life and seeing a therapist can help to lessen the emotional toll that your health takes on your overall well-being.
Coping with New Diagnosis
We all dread getting a phone call from the doctor’s office. “Your results are in and we’d like for you to schedule an appointment.” A dropping feeling in your gut. Total panic.
People diagnosed with a new medical condition often have many reactions- fear, anxiety, anger, sadness. On top of this, people often feel they have to manage their reaction in order to be strong for their families. This bottling up can lead to feeling isolated or constantly having your health on your mind.
About Me
As your provider, I want to understand the physical limitations you are facing and to work with you to reduce those barriers to living a life you enjoy. This sometimes means working with another healthcare provider to reduce pain, to optimize your medical care, or to find a treatment that fits your needs. I have experience with therapeutic techniques shown to help clients make positive health changes and also experience working on medical teams and advocating for clients.
